INVITING INTIMACY

Firstly, we will briefly recap Virgo Season. We were discovering how solitude could regenerate us in order to be more present with others. We were asking what we had to offer ourselves so that we can be in service to others more fully more readily. We were reflecting and analysing situations bringing more focus to the things that we truly value. We were learning to go with the flow and learning to be in our flow. Knowing that if we honour the change within ourselves we welcome feelings of fulfilment emotional stability and spiritual grounded-ness.

Discovering the unknown within ourselves made us uncomfortable. It was important to practice being gentle with our fragile egos while we experience the nuances of self-realization. Honouring the space of stillness as a space of rejuvenation and rest from the hustle and grind. But also honouring this space to acknowledge the changes within our minds, spirits and priorities.

Libra season is asking us to clarify our motivations and the roles we play in our partnerships. In other words, who and what motivates us and why? We pulled the King of swords asking us to sharpen our swords and honour the connections we have been building by cutting the away the debris around us.

King of swords encourages us to cut out excess. This could be physical clutter pairing down to the things you find beautiful to create an atmosphere for connecting with humans you cherish. It could be putting our phones down to look in the faces of each other. It could be making our self less busy in order to give time to cherished relationships. In other words, we are being invited to invite more intimacy in our daily lives.

Often we look to February to examine relationships through Valentines but Venus ruling the Libra sign, a sign of balance and harmony; Libra ruling love and relationships. We are being invited to explore the many facets love and intimacy especially exploring containers of intimacy outside hetero normative couplings. Think friendships, family, community, business relations the human race as a whole. Think platonic, queer-platonic, and romantic not exclusively romantic. This season is known for partnerships and relationships of all kinds evaluating what kind of connections are we inviting and staple in our lives? What connections are deepening and strengthening? Whose presence commands truth and transparency in the way we relate?

It is also the season we pair up with another, nesting and harvesting for upcoming winter months. If observing the pairing up amplifies feelings of loneliness, understand that you are not alone. It’s a good time examine how you are a partner to yourself. Do you encourage yourself? How do you extend compassion towards yourself? Is it possible to recognize what and who is around instead of focusing on longing and what is missing?

It is an excellent time to hang with loved ones and/or chosen family. Can we use this cardinal time to initiate harmonious interactions? Harmony doesn’t mean there are no opposites; it means that opposites sit side by side embracing difference and agreeing to move things forward for peace, for justice for a more tolerate humanity.

King of Swords also reminds us that it is pre-retrograde season. We are slowing down seasonally as well as astrologically. We are slowing down for a soul review. On the 23rd we move into the sign of Scorpio. The sign that asks us to look at the deep dark shadows of ourselves. What is hidden in the shadow that is looking to be acknowledged and embraced? Where do we avoid feeling deeply and widely and why? This sign loves to get to the investigate and go deeper. If you are using the King of Swords as a meditation, the energy of this card will aid us to get to bottom of anything with piercing awareness and into deep feeling. In other words we will be going way inward to investigate lingering emotions and feelings to sit with them, to name them, to find clarity. Perhaps to open up to the things within us that has been rejected by societal norms.

I encourage you to be ever gentle and compassionate with yourself. Allow yourself patience, allow yourself time, celebrate the subtle nuances in your day so that when the large epiphanies present themselves to you, you are able to receive it with less resistance. Refrain from forcing self-awareness, there is no deadline to enlightenment. There is no manual. There is you with a slow growing courage to be yourself out in this world.
